Peggy’s Christmas Gift (to herself)! (okay, so this is old news… still loving it though on August 10, 2010)
This year, I did something I have never done. I bought my own Christmas present – the Amazon Kindle.
I had debated between the Sony Reader, Barnes and Noble’s Nook and the Amazon Kindle 2, finally deciding upon the latter. I am pleased with my purchase. I’ve already downloaded 9 free books and 8 purchased books including Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol which I have yet to read.
With the Kindle, I can look up words in the dictionary, search the web for more information, and add bookmarks and comments. I can even read any of my Kindle books on my iPod Touch and the Kindle program will remember my place on all three of my devices (PC, Kindle, iPod). Amazing!
More than a little restraint is required though, as books can be downloaded in less than a minute from the Kindle… too easy for me. I am excited though as now I have solved the problem of too little book shelf space.
My gosh, I think I have just written an endorsement for this product. No problem… I am pleased with my purchase.
