“Healing is a process, a movement, a transition toward balance, connectedness, meaning and wholeness. Healing is a movement, not an outcome.”
Richard Katz, Sacred Stories
Are you ready to join the wellness movement?
Have you recently been diagnosed with an serious medical condition? Confused about your options? Not sure how to move forward?
If you are struggling with a medical condition, it is a part of your life. Wellness is about embracing the natural unfolding of our lives… the good, the bad, and the downright ugly… and your medical condition IS a part of your life. That doesn’t mean that you should become passive and give up – instead consider it an invitation to examine your life more deeply.
God give me the courage to change what I can,
The strength to accept what I cannot,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
Wellness is about learning the difference between what you can change and what you cannot and focusing your energies wisely. You are so much more than the story of your medical condition. Whatever you experiencing NOW is your life.
Holistic wellness offers healing physically, socially, psychologically and spiritually even if a cure is not possible. It brings a sense of harmony and balance to life. It is a lifestyle that offers a greater self understanding and awareness. You are not your body. You are not your thoughts. Your are not your emotions. You are more that that.
Wellness is the mind-body-spirit-emotions integration that promotes self-care and self-awareness AND connects you to the larger world. It is a state of being joyfully and enthusiastically engaged with your life, even if it doesn’t turn our exactly as you planned.
As a Occupational Therapist and Certified Mindful Coach, I am committed to assisting you to define your wellness path and access your inner healer. As someone who is also dealing with a medical condition, I offer support and partnership for the transcendence beyond dis-ability to a life of wholeness, balance and harmony.
